Christmas Carbohydrate Counter

We're heading towards Christmas 2005. Do you have your Christmas carbohydrate counter handy?

Counting Carbs on the Holidays?
To avoid falling too far off the wagon when it comes to your low carb diet, you'll need to have your Christmas carbohydrate counter. Now, a Christmas carbohydrate counter really isn't any different from a regular carbohydrate counter unless you make your own. What you do is decide ahead of time what you're going to eat and write it all down, complete with the carb count for each food. And don't forget to include the foods you will be tempted to try in your homemade Christmas carbohydrate counter. That's right--make your list and check it twice!

Maybe your carbohydrate counter is a book and you'd like something a little less bulky, like a PDA carb counter. You can put it on your Christmas list, and if you get it, you could dub it your "Christmas carbohydrate counter."

The important thing is, if you want to make your low carb diet a success, you continue counting carbs. If you don't, you could gain five pounds just from one day of indulging! Not only that, but it could take another three or four days to get back into ketosis mode. Ah, the joys of Christmas on a low carb diet.

Here's a little poem for you, oh low carb dieter:

Ode to Low Carb Dieting
Christmas is near
Be of good cheer
You're on a low carb diet,
So you've gotta skip the beer
It's only one day, so never fear
Before you know it,
You'll be right back in gear!
