Low Carbs Diets

Low carbs diets work for some but not others. Can low carbs diets work for you?

Low Carbs Diets

Low carbs diets work great for people who love meat and hate veggies.

Are Low Carb Diets a Good Idea?

It depends. There are a lot of limitations to low carbs diets, one of which is fruit and vegetable intake. Many people don't like vegetables or fruit anyway, so giving them up is no great loss. However, you also have to give up bread, crackers, anything made with sugar and sodas. If you don't eat those things either, a low carb diet will be a breeze. But if you aren't eating any of those things, your diet is already pretty much a low carb diet.

Now, if you're a vegetarian, a low carb diet is pretty much out of the question because you are encouraged to eat a lot of protein. Usually, the best way to get protein is through meat. If you're a vegetarian, it can be tough to meet the protein requirements of a low carb diet. Plus, you have to give up veggies. So what's that leave? Then again, if you're a vegetarian, you might not need to be on any kind of diet--unless you eat lots of potatoes, fatty foods and sugary foods. In that case, if you want to try a low carb diet, you'll have to eat a lot of eggs, cheese, protein bars, tofu and drink protein shakes--even more than you might now (if you eat that stuff now, that is).

When considering a low carb diet, be realistic. Think about what's really doable for you before you start.
